Minicom sending unsolicited data

If minicom is sending unsolicited data after reconnecting, e.g. AT commands, ModemManager is very likely the source.

Find out with

$ ps -ax | grep Modem

Permanently eliminate with

$ sudo systemctl stop ModemManager
$ sudo systemctl disable ModemManager
